korean adventure

Hi diho, back to my story. Where was I ?Oh yeah at the majestic war memorial museum in seol. It's huge! There was this hallway with statues of their generals at both side of the hall. Kinda creepy if you walk down the hallway by yourself with these carved up heads looking at you.

Ahoi sparticans!ooops wrong country!

Theres were pictures and models of the korean history right from the dinasty era all the way to the war between north and south. There was this ancient warship model in the center ring of the museum with it's carved up dragon head looking ferociously at it's enemy ready for the command of battle.

There are also a row of colorful korean traditional garments on display in a glass box along with polish war armoury worn by the warriors during the battle in dynasty era. (I know i shouldn't leave like that but hey I was never a history buff , I mistaken Alexander Graham Bell for the founder of electricity for crying out loud! so I might as well keep quiet for a while (like a nano second :P) and let the pictures do the talking.)

We spend 1-2 hours at the war museum, then all of us clambered into the bus and went into Seoul to the culture village. We had to get out of the comfort of the toasty warm bus and into the chilly cold weather outside again as the bus cannot go into the village compound. The road heading there was narrow and we weren't the only tourist on that day. Groups of tourist from Indonesia and Singapore were scattered around the compound. There were traditional games put on display everywhere. I didn't take note of the names......I know....I know shame on you lin! One of them is that you try to throw this long sticks that look familiarly like an arrow and you try to aim it into a long basket put a few meters away. I wanted to try it but there was a small crowd waiting for there turn to have a go (Oh well! I should have shouted I'm from Malaysia and this maybe my last time here so give way! but I was too polite :( ) . Small cute primary school kids, with chubby rosy cheeks ( i guess they were on a school trip) gawk at us like we were aliens from outer space. I cannot believe how some of them were so use to the weather that they were only wearing Ts and skirts. If it was me I would grab the traditional garment on display and wrap it around me like a sushi roll , who cares if I was wearing it upside down! (Ooooh by the way to wear the garments you have to pay rental, if I'm not mistaken it's 20,000 yon (divide with 369)
